Ingredients
- 4 28 oz cans of whole or diced tomatoes
- 1 6 oz can of tomato paste
- 12 garlic gloves
- 3/4 cup of olive oil
- basil (optional)
- red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions
- Peel and mince garlic.
- Heat 1/2 a cup of olive oil in a large pot (high-low to low-medium heat), and heat the garlic until golden and fragrant.
- Add the tomato paste and 4 cans of tomatos and bring to a simmer. If adding red pepper flakes add them now.
- Cook uncovered for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add a pinch of salt, the remaining 1/4 cup of olive oil, and basil if you are adding that.
